Graham Budd Auctions is holding a Sports Memorabilia Auction on December 5-6 and a Whisky and Spirits Auction on December 4.

Now Graham Budd Auctions is searching for items to put under the hammer - perhaps on your behalf.

And it is also encouraging collectable enthusiasts to put the dates in the diary to watch the auction online and to bid remotely.

Winning bidders will be able to own a part of sports’ history, or a special wee dram. Though perhaps never to be opened!

December’s sport auction will see 1170 sporting items going under the hammer, including football caps, medals, programmes and even a Sheffield Wednesday match-worn shirt from 1907.

Says David: “It is in amazing condition, a wonderful thing, from £7,000-10,000.”

David tells the story of one couple who found a box of programmes in their loft which made £32,000. There’s a benefit to looking!

Explains David: “Items needs to be match-worn, match-used. Not the replicas that you see on the internet.”

“Check old drawers, old cupboards, the garage, the loft. Check them all!

“And it’s not just programmes. Itineraries, ticket stubs, menus. They could have value.

“We have a free valuation service, send as much as you want, and we’ll be more than happy to look at values on them.”

Of particular interest nowadays, says David are items in the history of women’s football which “are really taking off”.

The first-ever whisky auction run by Graham Budd Auctions will be led by specialist Martin Green, a driving force behind such auctions for over 30 years.

It will be a timed auction, over two days, and accessed online

Martin Green is looking for specialist single malt whiskies, especially if they have a pedigree and proof of sale, tracing back to the distilleries.
