Williams wins bronze in brilliant Italian job
Partnering her mum Clare’s palomino Dynasty, Williams posted her best ever team score in international competition of 74.077 per cent.
That showing helped to hand Great Britain their first medal in youth team competitions since 2007. Gold went to Germany and silver to the Netherlands.

Hide AdAfter finishing sixth individually, 15-year-old Williams also went forward to the individual competition with the chance of a medal and to qualify for the freestyle. Williams and Dynasty posted a score of 71.8 per cent for 11th in the individual test – qualifying them for the freestyle where they recorded an impressive 74.75 per cent for sixth place.
Williams’s 14-year-old team-mate Phoebe Peters stole the individual show by taking two golds. Partnering her mother Tracy’s pony Luci, Peters became the first British Under-21 to win an individual medal when taking gold in Saturday’s Individual Championship.
The teenage ace then added another gold in Sunday’s freestyle by performing to music from the films Johnny English and Kung Fu Panda.
Peters and Williams were joined by GB team-mates Rebecca Bell, 13, and Rose Hugh-Smith, 14.

Hide AdThe Upper Wharfedale Young Farmers and the Pendle Hunt are organising a ‘Safari Golf Day’ on Saturday at the Coniston Hall Estate at Coniston Cold, Gargrave near Skipton.
Golfers of all ability are welcome with the day featuring a bar and barbecue. The cost is £10 per player with teams of four people, including bacon sandwiches and tea beforehand.
