Storey puts an end to Selby's revival

Wheatley Hills strengthened their position at the top with a runaway 26-0 home victory over Selby, bringing their rivals' recent rally to an end.

Selby had the better of the possession in the first quarter, but Wheatley went ahead after 22 minutes when flanker Tom Buckenham went over for a try which Dan Storey converted.

Storey had no trouble with the conversion when prop Paddy O'Donovan touched down in the 34th minute to give the home side a 14-0 advantage at half-time.

Storey missed the conversion when left winger Jamie Webb raced over, but four minutes later Storey touched down between the posts.

Sheffield maintained second place when they scraped a 14-13 win at Bridlington.

The home side led 13-8 at the break with winger Will Davies and prop Rob Medford touching down and Jamie Muru adding a penalty.

Sheffield had a try from Tom White and penalty from Joe Cribley to show for their first half efforts and Cribley kicked a penalty and drop goal in the final seven minutes to take the win.

Although frozen pitches forced the cancellation of three matches, the top three clubs in the league all managed to play and Castleford maintained third place with a 25-13 home win over York.

Early leaders Bradford Salem, in fourth place, have two games in hand.

Winger Lee Land touched down twice, and scrum-half Nathan Davis and stand-off Karl Paterson also scored tries, and winger Dale Turner kicked a conversion and penalty.

Dinnington fought from 17-0 down at half-time to scrape an 18-17 home victory over Skipton.

The home side dominated the first half, going ahead with two tries from scrum-half Chris Wibbley, both converted by Jeremy Hargreaves, and a penalty by Hargreaves.

Dinnington pulled back a penalty by Darren Cannadine and fought their way back with tries by No 8 Will Marshall, scrum-half Lawrence Ross and, in the last minute, centre Andy Hopkins.
