Suspended Chase missing for Tigers

Super League: England star Rangi Chase has been left out of Castleford Tigers’ squad for tonight’s televised game at Widnes Vikings.

The reigning Man of Steel was suspended by the West Yorkshire club last Tuesday pending an internal investigation into his behaviour the previous weekend.

He was dropped for the game at Leeds Rhinos and, with Castleford yet to reach an outcome on that investigation, their principal player remains omitted.

Youngster James Clare has been named in Ian Millward’s 19-man squad and is in line for only his second appearance after debuting at Huddersfield back in February.

Winger Josh Griffin is also set to return to the team, having recovered from an ongoing Achilles injury which has ruled him out for the last month.

Full-back Richard Owen serves a one-match ban having been charged with a Grade B offence for punching during the defeat to Leeds.

Warrington have extended the loan spell of winger Rhys Williams at Castleford and allowed academy back-row forward James Laithwaite to join Hull KR for a month.
