Show call to leave cars at home

ORGANISERS of this year's Driffield Show are once again seeking to encourage visitors to leave their cars behind when they visit the showground.

The show, now in its 135th year will be held on Wednesday, July 21 and people are being urged to travel to the show by bus, rail, walking and cycling.

Last year thousands of people either used the regular service buses or the train to get to the show and a free shuttle bus provided by local bus company East Yorkshire Motor Services (EYMS) will operate between George Street in Driffield town centre and the showground every 20 minutes.

The shuttle bus also connects at Driffield train station which provides direct services to Beverley, Bridlington, Hull, Scarborough, Doncaster, Meadowhall and Sheffield.

Organisers say anyone who travels to the show by train receives 1 discount off the admission price if they show a valid train ticket at the showground.
