Fairway fetches big numbers

Fairway Experian fetched 5,500 guineas for David Fattorini of Tockwith.

A Charolais sale on October 20 was the high point, in terms of bull numbers and average prices, in a week of beef breed sales at Stirling, Scotland.

Among the entries were the 19-month-old Brampton Escort, from Billy Turner, Brampton-on-Ure, Ripon, sold for 6,000 gns to Brian Lavis, Okehampton, Devon.

Fairway Experian, bred and exhibited by David Fattorini, Tockwith, York, sold for 5,500 gns to Kingcraigie Farms, Banchory, Aberdeenshire.

Averages: 108 bulls, 4,536; 10 females, 2,331; three cows and calves, 1,610.
