Sheffield Steelers announce first import signing for Elite Series
The 28-year-old makes the switch to South Yorkshire having spent the 2020-21 season with HC Innsbruck in the ICEHL, the same league in which Rotherham-born GB first-choice goaltender Ben Bowns has been playing for Graz99ers, neither team making the post-season.
But while former Sheffield Steeldogs’ netminder Bowns will be heading to Nottingham Panthers for the Elite Series - the first overall pick made by Guillaume Doucet in last week’s Brit-Draft, 6ft 3ins shutdown defenceman Danielsen is heading to their nearest rivals.

Hide AdSteelers’ head coach Aaron Fox said he had signed a ‘character’ guy in Danielsen, who while spending time in Sweden and Denmark as well as Austria, has played the majority of his domestic hockey in his homeland.
“Adrian is a true pro with high character and is coming here with a mindset to win and showcase his game,” said Fox. “He is a big two-way defensive who skates extremely well.
“He likes to play a physical game and prides himself on being a shutdown defenseman. He has shown some offensive upside in Norway and I expect him to play in all situations when he hooks up with us in a few weeks’ time.”
