Both Malton’s Simon Dyson and Sheffield’s Danny Willett have amassed five top-10 finishes between them without actually claiming a prized victory.

They are comfortably inside the top 60 on the ‘Race to Dubai’ standings as the European Tour arrives back on the continent after a spell in the Far East.

Willett has two of those top-10 finishes but his consistency is better underlined by the fact that he has not missed a cut in any of the eight tournaments he has played, with his lowest finish being 43rd.

Hull’s Richard Finch, who remains reliant on sponsors invites after losing his card last year, is also in the field.
