York City 0 Bury 1: Trouble growing for Minstermen after latest loss
Soares’s ninth-minute effort was enough to secure a 1-0 win for the Shakers, who have now won six of their last seven fixtures.
The Bury midfielder profited from a mistake by on-loan Middlesbrough teenager Brad Halliday to get the only goal.

Hide AdHalliday gave the ball away in his own half and, after Joe Riley charged down the right wing and crossed low into the centre, Soares netted from eight yards.
The hosts’ response was fitful with an attempted long-range lob from Halliday being caught under his own crossbar by former Bootham Crescent favourite Nick Pope. Emile Sinclair also sidefooted wide from seven yards following a Michael Coulson corner.
But Bury might have doubled their lead in first-half stoppage time after Nicky Adams went clear but he blazed wastefully over.
Early in the second half, Danny Mayor shot narrowly wide from 15 yards for the visitors.

Halliday also fired at Pope from 25 yards as the Minstermen began to apply more pressure but Riley went close to adding a second late on.
