Team of the Weekend: Who makes Yorkshire's latest starting XI?

Less so for Sheffield United, York City and Huddersfield Town, who went down to contrasting defeats, while Doncaster Rovers were just happy to stop the rot after a worrying run of defeats with a draw against Millwall.

As usual, our man Leon Wobschall has assessed which players stood out with their performances and put together the best line up from all the White Rose’s leading teams who were in action.

Here is this week’s Yorkshire Post Team of the Weekend.

1: Lee Camp (Rotherham United)

Senior in terms of age, but not in terms of his nimble reflexes. Produced an outstanding save at the death on Saturday to deny Brentford’s Lasse Vibe a late leveller and unlucky to see the rebound go in after blocking Alan Judge’s penalty. Sense he will be a big player if the Millers are to stave off the drop.

2: Frazer Richardson (Rotherham United)

Heroic display with his fellow defensive cohorts not far behind. Produced arguably the block of the season to somehow deny an effort from Bees substitute Philipp Hofmann on Saturday. May yet be a massive moment for the Millers, that.

3: Ritchie de Laet (Middlesbrough)

The Belgian was preferred to George Friend on the left and further endeared himself to Boro fans with a resolute and accomplished showing at Craven Cottage. On a weekend for outstanding blocks, produced a terrific goal-line intervention to deny Fulham a certain goal.

4: Stephen Darby (Bradford City)

The dependable City captain set up Kyel Reid’s winning goal and was typically flustered and watchful when he and his defensive colleagues helping to record a clean sheet by the seaside.

5: Alfie Mawson (Barnsley)

Produced another commanding performance at the back and showcased his free-kick repertoire with an outstanding strike to take his seasonal tally to an impressive seven. More than one string to his bow.

6: Jonathan Hogg (Huddersfield Town)

Desperately unfortunate to finish on the losing side on Saturday after a lung-busting shift which he almost crowned with a rare goal. The knee injury he picked up remains a worry.

7: Albert Adomah (Middlesbrough)

Has rediscovered his mojo and was full of menace at Fulham with his trickery, cunning and pace. Scored a majestic header which any centre-forward worth his salt would have been proud of.

8: Lee Frecklington (Rotherham United)

At the centre of everything, although hugely, hugely unfortunate to give away a penalty. But was involved in both the Millers’ goals on his return as fitness issues were put to one side as he proved influential and at the heart of everything good from the Millers.

Deserved standing ovation when he came off.

9: Sam Winnall (Barnsley)

Shaping up to be an outstanding campaign for the Reds’ go-to forward, whose seasonal haul is now up to a very commendable 18. Showed predatory poise to net at Crewe.

10: Josh Cullen (Bradford City)

The young loanee defied his tender years to produce a mature and accomplished display on a difficult surface at Blackpool, with he and Lee Evans bossing things in the middle of the park - with Phil Parkinson praising both for ‘football intelligence.’

11: Kyel Reid (Bradford City)

Showed outstanding technique to clinically fire home the only goal of the game at Bloomfield Road - in front of over 3,000 away fans - as he struck for the second successive away game. Thoroughly enjoying life back in the claret and amber.

Manager: Neil Warnock

Has to be him, with the 67-year-old afforded the type of afternoon to remind him what he is missing while back at his country home in Cornwall. Made some key changes and rolled the dice with a few gambles in terms of selection.

But it worked, as the Millers enjoyed one of their best days of the season.
