For Rotherham United there was utter delight at the biggest win over Sheffield Wednesday in their history.

For the Owls there was despair at a third straight defeat that leaves the marooned on minus four points this season.

Jamal Blackman – laughable now to think he was booked for time-wasting in the first half 6

Wes Harding – did not have to bomb on or defend much once Rotherham were two goals and a man to the good 7

Michael Ihiekwe – had a let-off when Wednesday were unable to punish his clearance against Dan Barlaser but otherwise assured 6

Richard Wood – carrying an injury, he did not let it affect him 7

Joe Mattock – forced a good save with his free-kick 7

Ben Wiles – linked midfield and attack well 7

Dan Barlaser – his set-pieces were of the usual quality – including his penalty 7

Jamie Lindsay – two goals and some great tracking back in the second half 8

Florian Jozefzoon – won the penalty which effectively wrapped the game up 7

Freddie Ladapo – lively presence without a goal to show for it 7

Mickel Miller – dangerous cutting off the left 7.

Tom Lees – a red card on his return was a nightmare for the Owls 3

Julian Borner – quickly the only specialist centre-back but he was far from reassuring 4

Fiyaso Dele-Bashiru – did his best on the right wing in the second half and volleyed a chance over with a heavy touch 6

Joey Pelupessy – anonymous in midfield 5

Barry Bannan – showed moments class but never enough to turn the game 6

Kadeem Harris – lively in the early stages but ended up playing full-back 6

Callum Paterson – unable to have much impact 5

Jack Marriott – shunted wide in the second half 5.
