Centre-half Loovens limped off in the 2-1 win over Blackburn Rovers on Tuesday night, a game midfielder Hutchinson missed due to illness.

And while the Owls are boosted by the return of Barry Bannan from a three-match suspension, Loovens and Hutchinson could miss out.

“We don’t know on Glenn,” said Owls head coach Carlos Carvalhal. “He feels better today than he did yesterday.

“We will make a decision after talking to him and the medical department tomorrow.

“Sam lacks energy. Let’s see soon if he will be back.

“He doesn’t have a fever anymore. He is collecting energy now as he was ill with a fever for 10-12 days with a high fever so his body was weak.

“Now he is recovering and we are analysing him day by day and we expect he will be back to help the team as soon as possible as he is an important player for us.”

If Dutch defender Loovens misses out, Carvalhal has options in Frenchman Vincent Sasso or former Hull City stopper Michael Turner to come in to partner Tom Lees in central defence.
