Weather causes sporting disruption

In football, the Championship game between Blackburn Rovers and Middlesbrough was postponed because of a waterlogged pitch at Ewood Park.

It was the same story in League One, as games involving Sheffield United, Barnsley and Bradford City all fell victim to the weather.

York City's home match with Northampton Town in League Two, and the National League match involving Guiseley and Grimsby Town were also off.

In racing, the two-day fixture at Wetherby was called off, as is tomorrow's Welsh Grand National meeting.
