Now is not the time to relax for Barnsley FC players, warns Gerhard Struber

BARNSLEY head coach Gerhard Struber has warned his Reds players that now is not the time to relax as they seek the perfect end to a storming week at Reading on Saturday afternoon.

The Reds's hopes of a second 'Great Escape' from the drop in seven years have been boosted by a triple haul of victories, with Championship wins this week against relegation rivals Middlesbrough and Hull City following an astonishing 3-0 success at Fulham.

But Struber, who is toying whether to freshen up his side after their exertions at Hull or stick with a winning team - with no fresh injury concerns - issued a note of caution, with their work only just beginning.

On the task for Barnsley - seeking a fourth successive win at this level since 2012-13 - Struber said: "We have no time to relax. We are in the relegation zone. This is a fact.

"We play good and win, but right now and our big aim is to come out of the zone. We have had good kick-offs in the last three games, but we stay in the relegation zone.

"I think we have a good feeling right now, but we have to win tomorrow and bring the same style and performance in the next games and this is my responsibility and also the responsibility for the boys.

"I think this is a big duty for a professional player and team and it is our aim."

Sami Radlinger is around a week away from a return to training following a muscular problem, with Callum Styles (ankle) on the injured list.

Struber reports no new updates regarding the situation with suspended defender Bambo Diaby or on his search for another defensive addition in the free agent market.

On the injury situation, he said: "Right now, it looks good and we have the same situation about Sami Radlinger, who is still injured.

"I think we need one more week and then he will come back. Styles is still injured, but all the other players are ready for Reading.

"The last results make it easier and the last performances give every single player and the whole staff a good feeling. We feel we can grow up our self-confidence and that is a very important thing."
