Leicester City 0 Doncaster Rovers 0: Rovers hold on for point to hamper Leicester

A SERIOUS injury to Matty Fryatt marred the goalless draw in the Coca-Cola Championship encounter between Leicester and Doncaster.

Fryatt was carried off in the first half after a sickening clash with Doncaster's Brian Stock and he left the Walkers Stadium in an ambulance with a suspected broken jaw.

Leicester did not let the injury – or the seven-minute delay – affect them and may feel they did enough to earn all three points as Paul Gallagher, Danny N'Guessan and Bruno Berner all had chances to break the deadlock.

Doncaster rarely threatened with Billy Sharp's effort on the counter-attack their best chance.

The Foxes were left to reflect on a potentially damaging evening as they recorded their third successive home draw and look set to be without top scorer Fryatt for some time.

For Doncaster, who started the better, James Hayter went close with a goalbound effort that deflected wide off Sharp, while Leicester responded with efforts from N'Guessan and Andy King.

But the Foxes suffered a huge blow when Fryatt sustained a serious injury after a collision with the Rovers captain, with Fryatt leaving the field on a stretcher with a neck brace on.

Nigel Pearson's men were not put off their stride, though, and they finished the first half strongly. First Richie Wellens, playing against his former side, had a shot cleared off the line by Roberts, before Berner put his free header over the bar.

Leicester should have taken the lead three minutes after the interval but, with only Neil Sullivan to beat, Gallagher could only blaze wide.

The hosts continued to press and N'Guessan forced Sullivan into a fine save, with the former Scotland goalkeeper using his feet to keep out a low effort.

Doncaster had offered very little goalscoring threat but Sharp almost provided an opener after a quick counter-attack, but he fired his shot just wide. Leicester continued to push for the winner but were unable to create another chance.
