The 23-year-old has arrived at Elland Road from Leicester on a four-year deal in a move that will eventually earn the Foxes £3m.

The New Zealander received the reassurances he was looking for from Leeds before deciding to join and now he can’t wait to start his United adventure on the pitch in front of the Leeds fans.

On the move, he added: “It came pretty quickly. I think it was around about Thursday last week when the interest came and I heard about it and then the bid went in straightaway.

“It was nice to see that and you want to see that as it showed the type of hunger that they want me here.

“Of course, I had my thoughts about what happened last season and the way the club was run and things like that.

“But I came up here to speak to the manager to get my own little feel on it.

“It was the biggest move of my career and I didn’t want to take things lightly.

“I did my homework and made sure I was at the right place for me.

“I came up at the last weekend and I spoke to them both (Rosler and Cellino) and it blew me away what they were saying and how they

looked to change it and the club behind the scenes, which they have done already.

“In the past four or five weeks, they have brought in Adam Pearson and a couple of other ones in the backroom staff and it’s looking good. The manager is a good appointment and I can’t wait to work under him.

“I spoke to the manager and Massimo and I went away for a think about it to get the feeling of where I want to be and whether it matched up to

where Leeds want to be.

“As soon as I got things into my head, I was on the phone to the manager that I wanted to be here and they stuck the deal quickly.”
