Redfearn shuffles Leeds pack for Cherries clash

United set off on the long trip to the south coast this afternoon, with their options boosted by the return to the fray of Sam Byram following suspension.

But mindful of a run of three games in a week, including a lengthy trek to Dorset and a home derby with Huddersfield Town, Redfearn hinted that changes could be made tomorrow and he will also assess several players who are carrying knocks.

Redfearn, who insists he is comfortable with the decision of Massimo Cellino to rule him out of the running to become his permanent head coach, with the 49-year-old having a long term job running the Academy, said: “We have got a couple with niggles and we have got to be mindful of that. I am more mindful of the fact that it is the second game in a short space of time, plus there is a game against Huddersfield as well on Saturday.

“We have three games in each games, more or less and it’s a tough schedule. Particularly when two are away from home and I am mindful of that as well.

“But obviously, we got down to Bournemouth and this is the next game and the most important one and want to try and get something.”

On tomorrow’s test against a side who he rates as the best footballing side in the Championship, Redfearn added: “I think they have got a way of playing, to be fair and a philosophy they stick to whatever happens. That always runs through what they do, you can see that.

“I think they have got it going, to be fair. Fair play to them.

“I went down there last year and they took us apart, to be honest. It was four and it could have been far more.”
