Goalkeeper: Ryan Schofield (Huddersfield Town): A confidence-booster by way of a solid clean sheet against one of the Championship’s form horses in Cardiff. Sound performance on what could have been a difficult night.

Defence – Joe Wright (Doncaster Rovers): Turned in an outstanding display as Rovers won their second game in a row under Andy Butler. The Rovers manager - a resolute centre-half himself - would have been delighted.

Naby Sarr (Huddersfield Town): Stood tall and ruled the airwaves and was decisive in the air against a Cardiff side who are strong from set-pieces and have an undoubted weapon on Kieffer Moore.

Niall Canavan (Bradford City): Continued his excellent form at the back since joining City and turned in another commanding performance against Bolton.

Michal Helik (Barnsley): One of the form defenders across the whole Championship in terms of his interceptions and dominance in the air and on the deck. On message against Birmingham as Barnsley made it seven wins in a row.

Grant Hall (Middlesbrough): Very unfortunate to be on the losing side in a controversial game at Swansea. Was assured in his defensive duties.

Midfield – Gavin Whyte (Hull City): Helped himself to a couple of goals as the Tigers won their third game on the spin to go top of League One. Timely stuff.

George Honeyman (Hull City): Underlined his importance to the amber and black cause and drove City forward and showed moments of quality, none moreso when he set up Whyte’s second.

Lewis O’Brien (Huddersfield Town): Worn the captain’s armband with authority and led by example against Cardiff City and helped set up two great chances late on. Plenty of drive and energy.

Continued his excellent start to life in England and is proving a very handy and strong signing.

Omar Bogle (Doncaster Rovers): Really getting into the groove at Rovers and scored his first goal from open play against Plymouth.

Will be a key player in the run-in for Doncaster.
