Josh Sims rejoins Doncaster Rovers on loan from Southampton until the end of the season

Winger Josh Sims has rejoined Doncaster Rovers until the end of the season.

The 23-year-old played for the League One side between October and December on loan from Southampton, but had returned to his parent club with a hamstring injury. He scored three goals and made six more in 14 appearances.

Although Sims is out of contract at Southampton at the end of the season, he is once more on loan.

That is significant because League One clubs are only allowed to field five loanees per game although there is no limit on how many they can have in the squad, and manager Darren Moore has said previously he would be happy to have more, and rotate them.

Ellery Balcombe (Brentford), Matt Smith (Manchester City), Taylor Richards (Brighton and Hove Albion), Tyreece John-Jules (Arsenal) and Elliot Simoes (Barnsley) are also on loan at the Keepmoat, although striker John-Jules is expected to be missing for the next two to three months.
