Brighton 0 Hull City 0: Stalemate for Tigers

AARON MCLEAN and Robert Koren were both denied by the woodwork as Hull City and Brighton fought out a goalless draw on the south coast, writes Richard Sutcliffe.

The City striker was first to hit the crossbar with a thumping 71st minute shot, while Koren’s came in the final minute from 25 yards with Casper Ankergren well beaten.

Mclean then shot the rebound over, to add to an earlier miss when through one-on-one with Ankergren.

Robbie Brady was also denied by the former Leeds United goalkeeper during a second half that saw Adriano Basso keep out a Craig Mackail-Smith header.

Brighton’s big money import from Peterborough United also saw a stinging drive tipped over by Basso in the 88th minute as honours ended even at the Amex Stadium.
