Guiseley must now regroup for run-in

Blue Square North: Guiseley’s bid for successive promotions is starting to falter, a 3-0 home defeat against big rivals AFC Telford leaving Steve Kittrick’s men with just one point from their last three league games.

Throw in the 1-0 FA Trophy defeat against Luton Town and the Nethermoor outfit badly need a win to boost confidence for the run-in. Guiseley had two penalty claims rejected but failed to respond to Kittrick’s plea for a sharper cutting edge as chances were squandered.

After a goalless first half, Andy Brown scored for Telford immediately after the break as Guiseley failed to clear a corner. Carl Rodgers started and finished the move that brought the second in the 78th minute and Jon Adams made it three in stoppage time.
