Former Sheffield United and Leeds midfield Michael Brown gets management opportunity at Port Vale
The 40-year-old has been in temporary charge at Vale since December after replacing Bruno Ribeiro.
The decision to give Brown permanent control is the first major decision made by new Vale chairman Tony Fradley, who replaced Norman Smuthwaite earlier this week after the latter said he had "seriously damaged the club".

Meanwhile, former Sheffield United captain Chris Morgan has been installed as Brown's assistant.
The job at Vale was Brown's first step into management after a 19-year playing career.
The midfielder started his career at Manchester City before moving to Sheffield United in 200, where he played 147 games following an initial loan spell.
