Farsley back with eight-goal blast

The new-look Farsley AFC announced their arrival in the league with an 8-2 win at Arnold Town, who made life even more difficult for themselves by having two men sent off early in the match.

Andy Cooper put Farsley, who operated as Farsley Celtic in Blue Square North before being sunk by financial problems, on their way after 10 minutes but goals from Tremayne Walters and Tony Law either side of a Gareth Grant strike saw the score at 2-2 just before half-time.

However, Mark Jackson and Grant renewed Farsley's lead before the break and goals from Dave Stead (2), Domic Krief and Thomas Jackson completed a comprehensive warning to the rest of the league.
