FA Cup: Brentford v Doncaster

DONCASTER ROVERS have turned down a bid from League One side Southampton for captain Brian Stock.

The Wales international midfielder, who leads Rovers out against Brentford in the FA Cup third round tonight, made a successful return from ankle surgery in Saturday's win over Watford.

Saints manager Alan Pardew put in an offer that evening for the 28-year-old – who had been out for four months – but has since confirmed they will not be following up their interest after the clubs failed to agree a fee.

Rovers side will set up a fourth round encounter with Championship rivals Derby County if they win.

But Bees midfielder Myles Weston believes his in-form League One outfit, who have lost just once in seven games, can spring a shock.

"We are taking it seriously," he insisted."It's a chance for us to prove that we are a good team."
