Bury 1 Doncaster Rovers 0: Poor finishing leaves boss Darren Ferguson feeling glum
Manager Darren Ferguson says this defeat encapsulated their season as they failed to turn attacking dominance into goals.
Rovers had 18 corners and commanded possession at Gigg Lane, but Leon Clarke’s 77th-minute goal proved decisive in the home side’s favour.

“We weren’t good enough in the final third and that sums up the season – not enough goals.
“We had 18 corners and 25 crosses and didn’t score. That is unfortunate where we are at and that is the reason we are where we are.
“It’s not good enough. We don’t score enough goals.
“The difference is we miss an absolute sitter, but Leon Clarke scores and they win the game.

“One point from the last two games is not going to be enough.”
Clarke punished Doncaster’s wastefulness by volleying home with 13 minutes left to play.
The result keeps Bury well-clear of relegation danger, but Doncaster are eight points from safety, having failed to win a league game since 2 January.
