On a busy night of football, Huddersfield Town are fighting relegation and Hull City are chasing promotion.

And at the bottom of the table, Barnsley, Huddersfield and Sheffield Wednesday all failed to pick up wins to pull themselves away from trouble.

A late Paul Coutts equalised denied Barnsley all three points, after Chris O’Grady had earlier put the Reds in front.

Blackburn Rovers 1-0 Huddersfield Town

Jordan Rhodes scored against his former club to push Town towards relegation.

Blackpool 0-0 Sheffield Wednesday

Stalemate by the seaside, as the Owls are left looking over their shoulders at the relegation scrap.

Leeds United 1-0 Burnley

Rudolph Austin netted the only goal of the game at Elland Road.

Middlesbrough 1-0 Nottingham Forest

Mustapha Carayol brought some relief to Boro’s troubled season with the winner against Forest.

Wolves 1-0 Hull City

The Tigers’ promotion part was put on hold as Kevin Doyle netted the winner for strugglers Wolves.

League One

Sheffield United 2-2 Brentford

Four penalties, three red cards and much drama. Marcello Trotta and Barry Robson traded penalties, before Bradley Wright-Phillips cancelled out Dave Kitson’s header.

League Two

Bradford City 0-2 Rotherham United

Goals from Lee Frecklington and Kieron Agard gave the Millers the spoils in the Yorkshire derby at Valley Parade.
