And Doncaster finally made the numerical advantage count when after twice hitting the woodwork, Theo Robinson pounced after coming on as a substitute before Curtis Main rounded off the scoring.

Bradford City were held to a 1-1 draw at home to Gillingham.

The Bantams looked set for all three points when Andy Legge turned in Andy Halliday’s shot, for an own goal.

James Hanson struck the post, but the hosts were denied victory when Gills substitute Antonio German netted in stoppage time.

Barnsley were 2-1 losers at Chesterfield.

Striker Eoin Doyle grabbed a double for the Spireites, meaning Keith Treacy’s effort was a mere consolation strike.
