Bradford City v Burton Albion: Time running out for play-off tilt says Taylor

Peter TAYLOR admits Bradford City have to hit form sooner rather than later or risk missing out altogether on the fight for a play-off place.

The Bantams slipped to a third consecutive defeat in midweek when Aldershot triumphed 1-0 at the Recreation Ground.

As a result, 14th placed City are six points adrift of the play-offs with 21 games remaining ahead of today's visit to Valley Parade of FA Cup third round giant-killers Burton Albion.

Taylor said: "We have got to start putting a run together quickly. If we don't do that soon we risk leaving it too late. Confidence is everything. Just look at Oxford, who after losing to us (in October) lost several games on the bounce but have now recovered and are knocking on the door of the play-offs.

"This season has been so frustrating. There are reasons for it such as a lot of our experienced players being out injured, meaning we have had a young team and that can lead to inconsistency. We don't want to make excuses but that is a fact."
