The Tigers led 2-0 and 3-2 at separate points of the contest but took a share of the spoils after Gary Gardner struck two minutes from time to level for the home side.

The six-goal thriller did bring an end to a five-game losing run for Grant McCann's side and below we have rated the performance of the Hull players.

George Long, 6: Floored team-mate Jordy De Wijs with a mistimed punch and looked rather unconvincing at times. Made two near-post saves in the second period.

Matt Pennington, 5: Made one important block, however the Blues raided at will down his side of the pitch after half-time and all three of their goals stemmed from deliveries from the left.

Reece Burke, 5: Recalled to the side and did okay during the first 45 but will surely be disappointed with how easy it was for the hosts to score three goals.

Jordy De Wijs, 6: Won plenty of headers and was in the right place to effect a couple of key interventions, though like Burke, he was guilty of switching off at crucial moments.

Callum Elder, 6: Lovely delivery for the opening goal was begging to be finished off. Gave away a couple of free-kicks in the first half in what was a committed display.

Leo Da Silva Lopes, 7: Did superbly to lay on City's second goal for James Scott and demonstrated a few glimpses of his ability but faded after the break.

Dan Batty, 6: Got through a lot of good work but was lucky to get away with losing the ball in bad positions on a couple of occasions in the first period. Anonymous during the second period.

Herbie Kane, 8: Started very well, winning the ball and playing Mallik Wilks through on goal in the first minute. Pretty calm in possession and capped a strong display with a well-taken set-piece strike.

Mallik Wilks, 6: Failed to capitalise on two glorious first-half openings, but did well to win the free-kick which led to City's third goal.

Josh Magennis, 7: Broke the deadlock with a close-range header and had a big hand in his team's second. Like many of his team-mates, he wasn't anywhere near as influential after the interval.

James Scott, 6: Drifted into the box from the left flank to expertly guide a difficult headed chance past Lee Camp for 2-0.
