Rashid joins Adelaide for Big Bash spell

The Yorkshire coach will be working with one of the Headingley coaches in Rich Pyrah, while leg-spinner Adil Rashid is Strikers’ latest recruit.

In addition, Gillespie’s franchise is set to face Aaron Finch (Melbourne Renegades) and Glenn Maxwell (Melbourne Stars), both of whom played for Yorkshire this year.

Strikers also face new Yorkshire signing David Willey (Perth Scorchers), who, like Rashid, is playing with England’s blessing as practice for next year’s T20 World Cup.

“As soon as we identified that we needed another spin option, Adil was one of the first names that came to mind,” said Gillespie, who added that Pyrah will spend around 10 days with the franchise.
