More wickets for top Burley bowler Brook

Aire/Wharfe

Nick Brook took his wicket tally for the season to 70 and inspired Burley to a victory that clinched their first championship since 1964.

Brook (6-32) and Jason Wright (4-41) combined to dismiss runners-up Beckwithshaw for 120. But the defending champions were not going to give up their title without a fight and James Lilley (5-47) caused some nervous moments in the home camp before Burley clinched victory with two wickets to spare, Charlie Davy (42) top scoring.

At the other end of the table there is still a dog-fight to see who joins North Leeds in relegation after all three threatened clubs picked up points.

Marvin Shires (8-26) skittled out Thackley for just 76 to give Adel a 109-win. They have taken 14 from the last 18 points available but Pool remain ahead of them on games won after Dave Singleton (73) led them to victory over Guiseley.

The pair are just four points behind Rawdon who were involved in a tied match at Otley. Duncan Stow (90) top scored in Rawdon's 242-7 but despite a five-wicket haul from Stuart Hudson, the visitors looked set for defeat when Otley reached the last over needing just one run for victory. Andrew Doidge produced five dot balls and on the sixth Liam Mulligan was run out going for the winning run.

Dalton Polius (65no) and Toby Jacklin (6-51) starred as Collingham beat North Leeds by six wickets and an undefeated 56 from Yasser Ali and 6-42 spell from Ishtikhar Hussain helped Green Lane beat Kirkstall Educational and ensure third place.
