Lloyd takes eight as Moorlands rise again
Last season’s Conference champions finished as Championship runners-up to Broad Oak, who had already booked their place in the top flight. An eight-wicket win at Almondbury Wesleyans rubber-stamped Moorlands’s promotion, Australian all-rounder Chris Lloyd taking eight wickets.
Almondbury leap-frogged Cumberworth to join Conference champions Kirkheaton in the Championship. Wasim Khaliq had a six-wicket haul in Almondbury’s seven-wicket win at Paddock, while Cumberworth lost by six wickets at Cartworth Moor.

Hide AdPremiership champions Hoylandswaine defeated visitors Slaithwaite by six wickets. Sarjinder Pal Singh had 18 fours and a six in his undefeated 112 and off-spinner Richard Wilkinson capped his fine season with a 6-35 return.
Skelmanthorpe amassed 311-6 and crushed relegated Holmfirth by 192 runs. No 3 Irfan Amjad made 191 before being run out, having struck 25 fours and 10 sixes.
Seamer Adam France took 8-85 in 21.5 overs but Scholes lost a low-scoring affair by 18 runs at relegated Meltham. Off-spinner Muhammad Kashif grabbed 6-27 in 13.2 overs for the winners.
Captain Steve Whitwam made an undefeated 155 containing 19 fours and six sixes for Golcar, who won at Shelley by 81 runs, Andy Alsop taking six wickets.
