Early start is better for all

Sri Lanka captain Kumar Sangakkara believes an early start to matches would help beat the dew factor and reduce the number of one-sided contests in the triangular one-day series in Dhaka.

Sri Lanka began the tournament, which also involves India, with a seven-wicket victory over Bangladesh, easily overhauling the home side's score of 260-7.

Tillakaratne Dilshan led the chase with a knock of 104, his sixth ODI century, but a steady fall of dew hampered Bangladesh in the field making for a one-sided match.

Sangakkara sympathised with the home team.

"I've seen dew, but I've never seen dew like this," Sangakkara said. "I wouldn't want to field in these conditions and my bowlers wouldn't want to bowl in conditions like this. I think an 11am start or just after would be ideal, but that's something everyone has to agree to."
