Singer Williams vows to return from health fight

Singer Andy Williams revealed he is battling bladder cancer.

The Tri-Lakes News reported that Williams, 83, told the audience at a show on Saturday night at the Moon River Theatre in Branson, Missouri.

The silver-haired Moon River singer, who hosted a popular 1960s US variety show, missed planned performances this autumn with an undisclosed medical condition.

Williams received a standing ovation when he appeared and told the crowd that bladder cancer “is no longer a death sentence” and that he would survive. He vowed to return to the stage next September to celebrate his 75th anniversary in showbusiness.
