Widely praised Blessed film set to be seen online

An independent short film starring husband and wife team Brian Blessed and Hildegard Neil is set to be released online for a limited 10-day run today.

Filmed in Sheffield, the 10-minute-long sci-fi film Mr Bojagi was

funded solely by director Marco van Belle and director of photography Alex Veitch.

Despite its humble beginnings, the film won the "Golden Lion" award for Best Achievement in Film and the best actor award for Mexborough-born Brian Blessed's performance in the title role at this year's British Independent Film Festival.

Mr Bojagi also won the Jury Award for Best Short Film at the London Independent Film Festival.

Mr van Belle said: "We proved that with a great idea and hard work you can succeed independently, from securing a big name actor to selling the film.

"With film funding the way it is now, the do-it-yourself approach might be the only way film-makers are going to make their mark in the Mfuture."
