White Rose centre grows

SHOPPERS in Leeds will have new-look stores to spend in after plans were backed to expand the White Rose Shopping Centre, in Leeds.

Land Securities submitted an outline plan to extend the out-of-town centre, which was backed by members of Leeds City Council's plans panel east, subject to conditions being met.

James Larmuth, portfolio manager for Land Securities, said: "Our application was made as a result of demand from existing occupiers for additional space at White Rose and this positive decision is good news for the local economy.

"The take up of more space by occupiers will broaden the offer to our customers, add to the shopping experience and result in the creation of more job opportunities for local people at White Rose."
