A171 and A169 from Scarborough and Pickering in North Yorkshire 'impassable' due to snow - leaving Whitby cut off by road
North Yorkshire Police have warned drivers that the two main roads into Whitby have been cut off due to snow today.
The A171 and A169 are both blocked.
North Yorkshire Police said: “The A171 from Scarborough to Whitby is completed blocked by snow and stranded vehicles. Many roads around Whitby are also affected. Please plan your journey before you set out, and take extra care if you're on the roads this morning.
“The A169 from Pickering to Whitby is also now impassable due to the weather, so please avoid the area.”
