Waterworks plans in the pipeline
Yorkshire Water’s plans involve moving the waste water treatment works in Deepcar a mile and a half down Manchester Road.
If planning permission is granted, building work will get underway next year and the project should be completed in 2014.

A spokesman for Yorkshire Water said: “The proposed £11m scheme will provide a brand-new facility for the local community, which will treat sewage to the highest standard before being discharged into the River Don.”
People are now being invited to two drop-in events, where they can find out more about the project.
The first will be held from 3.30pm to 6.30pm on Monday, October 15, at Stocksbridge Library. The second will run from 4pm until 7.30pm on Wednesday, October 17 at Wharncliffe Side Community Centre.
