Video: Home Front remembered at Brodsworth Hall
BRODSWORTH Hall’s butler was busy at work yesterday as he prepared for a 1940s-themed weekend at the country house near Doncaster.
During this May bank holiday weekend, visitors will be able to experience a “long weekend of living history, performance and nostalgia.”
A spokesman for English Heritage said: “Various Home Guard soldiers will train on the lawns of Brodsworth alongside the soldiers of the East Yorkshire Regiment.
“Demonstrations of wartime fashions, ration book cooking and even wartime falconry will fill the grounds.”
Opening hours are 11am to 5pm.
