Victim in hospital after ‘targeted’ shooting

detectives were last night investigating a shooting in Bradford, which they described as a “targeted attack”.

Officers said the victim was shot as he walked down Clayton Road, near its junction with Hollingwood Avenue, at 5.20pm on Saturday.The 31-year-old local man was apparently going back to his car after calling at shops when he was shot in the leg by a man who was described as wearing dark clothing.

A police spokesman said: “The injured man remains in hospital where he is expected to undergo surgery. His injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

“The suspect is thought to have approached the victim from nearby Lowell Avenue and then fled on foot in the same direction.”
