Updated: Police name teenage driver in fatal South Yorkshire crash

POLICE have named a teenage driver who died in a crash in Beighton, South Yorkshire yesterday (Friday).

Bradley Lester Byrne, 19, suffered fatal injuries in the collision on the A57 at around 11.24am.

Mr Bryne, from Sheffield, was driving a black Seat Leon that was involved in a collision with a white Renault van near to the junction with Rotherham Road.

The front seat passenger of the Seat, a 19-year-old woman from Aston, and the driver of the Renault van, a 41-year-old man from Dinnington, sustained serious injuries and both were taken to hospital, South Yorkshire Police said.

A silver or grey coloured BMW, possibly a 3 or 5 series, is reported to have been close to the scene at the time of the collision and officers are trying to trace this vehicle.

Anyone with information is asked to contact 101 quoting incident number 371 of August 7 2015.

A spokesperson for South Yorkshire Police said: “Bradley’s family has asked that their privacy be respected at this difficult time.”
