Video: Leeds City Varieties Theatre re-opens

COMEDY legend Ken Dodd was the star attraction as Leeds’s City Varieties music hall re-opened after restoration to its former glory.

The 83-year-old’s charity gala performance marked the relaunch of the venue after a £9.9m refurbishment.

The Grade II* listed theatre’s auditorium has been renamed in memory of Leeds businessman and philanthropist Jimi Heselden, who died after an accident last year.
