Wizz Air: Airline confirms seven destinations from Leeds Bradford Airport after closure of Doncaster Sheffield base

Budget airline Wizz Air has begun flying to seven destinations from Leeds Bradford Airport after having to leave its previous Yorkshire base at Doncaster Sheffield.

The carrier, which has traditionally focused on eastern European routes, has moved its services to Bucharest, Cluj, Wroclaw, Warsaw, Krakow, Katowice and Gdansk to Leeds Bradford and will operate 22 flights a week in both summer and winter.

Wizz’s contract with Doncaster Sheffield Airport was terminated by owners Peel’s decision to close the site this month, though they had already cut their schedule in the summer following a breakdown in the commercial agreement.
