Torch to light up school’s opening

A SCHOOL in Yorkshire believes that it is the only one in the country to open its doors to the Olympic Torch, with the flame set to be carried through the building for a special event.

Richmond School will host the relay on Wednesday after applying to be involved in the epic journey around the country.

Lord Coe and Richmond MP William Hague are expected to attend the event which will celebrate the completion of £32m building work at the school and allow the relay support team to take a break on their journey between York and Carlisle.
