Thatcher tops most influential women poll

Former Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher has won another landslide almost 20 years after losing power.

She picked up almost a third of the votes (32 per cent) in a survey to find the most influential woman in the world,

Baroness Thatcher beat Florence Nightingale, Mother Teresa and Oprah Winfrey in a survey of more than 2,000 people.

Supermodel Kate Moss came bottom of the poll with only 1 per cent of the vote, while nearly half of women aged 16-39 voted pop star Katy Perry (47 per cent), who recently wed comic actor Russell Brand, the happiest female, with only 1 per cent choosing recently divorced chart topper Cheryl Cole.

Harry Potter author JK Rowling (26 per cent) tops the list of global female icons that most women would want to be.

Nearly 40 per cent of Britons feel there are not enough modern female role models according to the poll by website MyDaily.
