South Yorkshire firefighters to strike again
FIREFIGHTERS are to stage a fresh wave of strikes in a long-running dispute over jobs, it was announced today.
The Fire Brigades Union said its members in South Yorkshire will take strike action from January 27 to February 4 and will go ahead with a 48-hour walkout from January 24 after talks broke down.
The union has accused the fire authority of threatening "mass sackings" to force through new contracts.
