Roman jewellery snatched in York shop raid

Police have released these images of two men they wish to speak to following the theft of historic jewellery from a shop in York.

Two men forced open a cabinet inside The Red House Antique Centre in Duncombe Place and stole a number of valuable Roman gold and silver jewellery items. The items, by their nature, are distinctive and unique, police said.

Photographs of some of the stolen items have also been released and officers are urging businesses and members of the public to be vigilant and report any attempts to offer the items for sale.

The incident occurred shortly before 10am on Saturday, April 22.
