Results reveal school is region's worst

Dinnington Community Primary had just 24 per cent of pupils achieving level four results in both English and maths in this summers Standard Assessment Tests.

The results meant it was ranked as the worst school in the region and in the bottom 10 in the country. More than one-in-10 primaries in a list of 200 schools with the lowest grades in the country were from Yorkshire.

Four schools saw less than a third of their pupils achieving the basic standards in English and maths. West Melton Juniors and Infant school in Rotherham, Hall Road School in Hull and Darfield All Saints' in Barnsley all had fewer than 30 per cent of pupils getting to the level expected of 11-year-olds in this summer's tests.

Seven schools from the region also featured in a table of the 100 schools who added the least value to their pupils' performance. Wrenthorpe Primary in Wakefield has the lowest "Contextual Value Added" score in Yorkshire in a table which aims to measure how much impact a school has on a child's education.
