Quartet join ranks of Deputy Lieutenants

FOUR men have been appointed as Deputy Lieutenants for West Yorkshire.

Her Majesty's Lord-Lieutenant for the County of West Yorkshire, Dr Ingrid Roscoe, appointed the four as Deputy Lieutenants after signing their commissions.

They are Roger Bowers, 67, who served as High Sheriff for West Yorkshire in 2008-09 and is a governor for Bradford Grammar School.

Mark Skipper, 48, is chief executive of Northern Ballet Theatre, a position he has held since 1996.

He also serves on the board of the Leeds-based Phoenix Dance Theatre, where he encourages young people from all cultures to get involved in dance and the theatre.

Nicholas Lane-Fox, 46, is owner-manager of Bramham Park Estate, which now hosts events such as horse trials and the Leeds Festival.

He retired from the Army in 1995 having reached the rank of Major after 10 years military service.

He is also a trustee of the Educational Foundation of George Ellis and serves on the council and investment committee of the Yorkshire Agricultural Society.

Terry Hodgkinson, 61, chairs the regional development agency, Yorkshire Forward, and is a Treasury-appointed member of the euro standing committee .

He also is also on the board of The Northern Way, a group brought together by the government to create and oversee a growth strategy for the north of England.
