Police officer is sacked for having ‘sex on duty’

A POLICE officer who had sex with several women while working has been sacked for gross misconduct.

PC Troy Van-Eda, 44, originally from Luddenden Foot, near Halifax, spent his early police career as a special constable in Calderdale. He later became a full time officer with Greater Manchester Police. He married Joanne Welch in 1996.

Van-Eda, now of Rochdale, denies any wrongdoing and claimed he was a victim of malicious lies at a disciplinary hearing. But senior officers dismissed his version of events and he was sacked immediately. A spurned lover reported him to his bosses after a six-year affair. Van-Eda, who now lives with his fiancee Rachael Smith, said he would appeal the decision. He used to work as an engineer.
